Over the weekend I was in Boulder, Colorado. The weather was nice but I missed the spring flowers of Portland. One thing I did in Boulder was visit a salt room where people can receive therapy of breathing salt air while they relax on comfortable chairs. To me it felt much like an acupuncture treatment focused on helping what in Chinese medicine is the Lung and fluid circulation.
In fact, a major reason people do this therapy to improve their lung function to treat allergies and asthma.
In Chinese medicine the Lung organ is closely related with immunity and feeling vital energy for your daily activity.
Read on below to learn more about the immune system and autoimmune diseases.
Autoimmune Disease and Traditional Chinese Medicine
Autoimmune disease happens when the body decides some part of itself should be attacked as "foreign." Women have a much higher incidence of autoimmune diseases than men and overall the diseases are not common nor do they fit a single category. They do usually impact someone's life greatly.
Many people with autoimmune diseases find that they feel much better with lifestyle improvements that are focused on healthy immunity.
